WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — The design-it-yourself burrito and bowl chain has just opened its first Chipotlane in Wesley Chapel.
A new Chipotle store design allows guests to order their custom meals from the comfort of their car and phone, making the Chipotlane a pick-up lane rather than order-and-pay. The store's new system makes it more convenient for guests to get their orders quickly.
"Our fans love the convenience of using our app to pick up via a Chipotlane because it’s the fastest way to get Chipotle," A Chipotle spokesperson told 10 Tampa Bay. "On average, it takes guests fewer than 30 seconds to complete the process. Pick-up orders, including those that are made through Chipotlanes, are our highest margin transaction."
Chipotle will be adding Chicken Al Pastor for a limited time and will be available at the Wesley Chapel location.
This Chipotle's opening marks the fourth Chipotlane in the Tampa Bay area. There are hundreds of Chipotlanes across the U.S.
"We started testing Chipotlanes in 2018, and we are on track to open our 1,000th Chipotlane later this year," a Chipotle spokesperson said.
The drive-thru lane doesn't remove the in-store experience, though. Chipotle said that the in-restaurant experience accounts for over half of the guest's preferences.
"Many of our guests are still passionate about the classic experience of moving down the line and building their bowls in person," the spokesperson said. "In-restaurant sales accounted for 63.5% of total food and beverage revenue in Q1 of 2024."
Wesley Chapel's Chipotlane can be found at 28906 SR 54, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544, open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The first-of-its-kind location in Wesley Chapel also brings employment opportunities for locals. Those interested in seeking a career with Chipotle can find open positions on its website.
