SPRING HILL, Fla. — Hernando County deputies helped rescue ducklings along with firefighters after they were seen stuck in a storm drain.
Someone called about multiple ducks that fell into a drain at the intersection of Northcliffe Boulevard and Portillo Road in Spring Hill, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff's office.
When first responders arrived, they saw three baby ducks trapped under a grate running back and forth.
"It took multiple attempts with various different efforts, but all three baby ducks were eventually brought to the surface," the post read.
Now, officials are trying to find the mother of the babies to reunite them. If they can't find her, they will turn the ducks over to a local shelter for care.
