NORTH PORT, Fla. — A seven-foot gator was found in the garage of a Gran Paradiso neighborhood in Sarasota County.
The North Port Police Department posted a picture on Facebook of the gator relaxing and seemingly smiling between a beach umbrella and some bicycles.
The agency warns all residents in Florida to keep their garage closed when they're not driving a car in and out of it.
"Please make sure to be cautious around your property and don't leave garage doors open. You never know what could come in," the post said.
Wildlife Animal Control recommends installing fences when a lake or other body of water is near the house. House Digest advises people to remove things in the yard that may attract alligators, like unsecured garbage and food sources.
