It comes with 2 blades: a dicer and a chopper. The clear base that holds the chopped product has measurements on the side to make it easy to read if following a recipe and a cleaning tool to push bits of vegetable or fruit pieces through the blade. I first tried to cut an onion. Before using the chopper, I cut off both ends of the onion and peeled the outer skin off. I chose the dicer blade first. I placed the onion skin side up, but you can place on up or down on the hinge before chopping. I placed both hands flat on the lid and pushed down quickly and firmly. It was not a clean, successful cut, leaving the onion "mushy" and not going through the dicer easily. I then swapped out the blade, using the chop blade and it was a smooth, clean cut, chopping the onion into many small pieces. Based on this result, depending on what you are chopping, you may need to vary the blade used. Chopping a potato and dicing a carrot were both very effective, chopping it easily on the first attempt. The chopper, blades and cleaning tool are all dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Overall, I gave the Vidalia Chop Wizard a thumbs up! We purchased the Chop wizard for $19.95.www.chopwizard.com/>
