SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Pete's African American Heritage Trail explores the first 100 years of Black presence and contribution in the city. It also takes you through the heart of a once thriving black business district along 22nd St S. known as The Deuces and oh the stories the street could tell if it could talk! Luckily, the residents who lived through the highs and lows of the neighborhood are alive to tell the tales. Gwendolyn Reese is the President of the African American Heritage Association of St. Pete and shares the rich history of The Deuces and shines a light on the work being done today to restore it to its former glory.
