Name: Roxie
Breed: Chihuahua/Long Coat/Mix
Age: 6 years old
Sex: Female - Spayed
Adoption Fee: $125
Weight: 6.5 pounds
Roxie came to the Humane Society of Tampa as a surrender on February 1. She arrived at the shelter already spayed, so she is ready to play.
She is a shy little girl with a loving personality. Once she gets to know you, she will warm up quickly. Her owner received her as a gift when she was a puppy 6 years ago but, unfortunately, as with the case of many of our surrenders, the living arrangements changed for the owner and she was no longer able to care for her. She is house trained and will get your attention if she needs to go outside to use the bathroom.
She loves car rides, but is shy and nervous when meeting other dogs. She is active and loves to play, but her favorite activity is to sit in your lap and be loved.
One of our biggest events of the year is quickly approaching for the Humane Society of Tampa. Bark in the Park will be taking place on Feb.12 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Downtown Tampa. The event runs from 11-4pm. The event is a family- and dog-friendly festival featuring live music, food trucks, beer, pets for adoption, vendors, doggie costume contests and a 1-mile stroll along the river.
