ATLANTA, GA (11Alive)-- It's about that time when people start thinking about what to dress up as for Halloween.
"Hands down I would say the biggest trend in Halloween costumes this year is superheroes," said Julia Darrenkamp, spokeperson forParty City, which is out with its hottest trends for 2012."With blockbuster hits like 'The Avengers', 'The Amazing Spiderman' and 'Dark Knight' all out this year, it's a great option for all ages, boys and girls. It's also great for groups."
Futuristic costumes reminiscent of 'The Hunger Games' or the over-the-top outfits of Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj are also expected to be popular.
"For little girls, (fairies and) Disney princesses will be big, especially Cinderella because the movie will be coming out of the Disney vault this fall," Darrenkamp said.
With the presidential election also around the corner, many people are expected to dress up as President Obama or Gov. Romney.
Like last year, expect more Angry Birds, monsters and goths.
