ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Eagle-eyed viewers of Netflix's No. 1 show in the U.S. right now, "Homicide: New York," may notice a familiar anchor on the streets of the Big Apple covering a mystery that had yet to be unraveled.

10 Tampa Bay "Nightside" anchor Carolina Leid appears in episode three, "Vanished on Wall Street." As a reporter at WABC-TV in 2009, Leid was among the many journalists covering the disappearance of 46-year-old Eridania Rodriguez.

According to Netflix, Rodriguez began her work on the evening shift as a cleaner in Manhattan's Financial District and disappeared.

"Her coworkers say that she always has dinner with them during their shift, but the last time they saw her was around 8 o'clock and she hasn't been seen since," Leid reported at the time.

A coworker contacted Rodriguez's family to see if she returned home — and thus began a search. Netflix says in its episode description that police believed Rodriguez never left the building.

"It was a truly emotional story," said Leid, recalling the case. "I remember her kids being so desperate to find her. It just simply didn’t make sense.

"She was seen going into the building but not leaving. There were cameras everywhere. The NYPD was in full force yet nothing."

The five-episode "Homicide: New York" premiered on March 20 on Netflix.
