Detroit - Ted Nugent has filed a lawsuit against the city of Muskegon, Michigan, for canceling a show allegedly because of racist remarks. Nugent is also suing the city’s mayor and a concert promoter, over the cancellation of his appearance at the Summer Celebration concert on June 30th. Nugent’s suit says city officials accused him of making “derogatory racial remarks” during a radio interview with a Denver radio station (KRFX FM) on May fifth and called off his performance as a result. Nugent denies he made any such remarks. He says it was bad enough he suffered financial losses, but he says it’s even worse that his reputation has been hurt. Officials for the city and the festival could not be reached for comment.
