TRINITY, Fla. — A small Pasco County town will soon be home to "America's largest sports entertainment destination."
Storyland Studios announced plans to turn more than 800 acres of land in Trinity into a new project combining sports entertainment, arts, health-focused facilities and amenities into a sustainable lifestyle community.
The project was unveiled at the 2024 IAAPA conference in Orlando. It is set to be the largest community land development project in the country.
“A story is waiting to be shared here by athletes, coaches, teams and the families that will gather on these acres from across the country,” Matt Ferguson, Storyland Studios chief innovation officer, said in a statement. “Professional, collegiate, amateur and community athletes will have world-class facilities in which to compete, train, work and play here in pursuit of their dreams, with all the support facilities necessary to see those dreams become everlasting personal and shared family memories.”
The project includes:
- A professional soccer stadium
- An ice arena complex with five sheets of regulation and practice ice
- a 7,500-seat regulation baseball stadium and amateur multi-field training complex
- A basketball arena
- An outdoor adventure park for trail and off-road sports
- A performing arts center
Storyland Studios says a variety of collegiate and amateur sports venues will bring teams and spectators from all over the country to Trinity for tournaments, events and games year-round.
"The development aspires to be an example of intentional land remediation, energy and water sustainability, and an integrated county partner in providing solutions to the surrounding infrastructure of the community that build up the county and region while making little demand on existing infrastructure," the studio said.
A date was not mentioned for when the project would be finished.
