DADE CITY, Fla. — Snowcat Ridge, the first and only snow park in Florida, officially opened its 2023-24 season with the opening of a brand-new addition to the park: Santa's Christmas Lane.
Park officials introduced the new seasonal attraction at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday. Santa's Christmas Lane will offer kids a host of Christmas-themed activities, including:
- Santa's Cozy Cabin, where meet-and-greets and photo opportunities with Santa will be held throughout the day
- Story Time With Mrs. Claus, where children can participate in a fantasy Christmas-themed story hour
- Santa's Gift Shoppe, a marketplace filled with festive gifts, souvenirs, and other treats
- Peppermint Play Zone, a Candyland-esque playground with additional activities
Santa's Christmas Lane will join the perennially popular attractions at Snowcat Ridge, including the 400-foot snow-tubing slide Snowy Slopes, The outdoor ice-skating course The Crystal Ribbon, the 10,000-square-foot indoor snow-playing area The Arctic Igloo, and the Alpine Village with its food courts, bonfire pits, and interactive scavenger hunt.
The park's season opening was initially delayed this year amid a $1M renovation project to upgrade its restroom facilities, which included the addition of two new family restrooms and improvements that park officials said "significantly increased capacity and comfort."
With its official season underway, Snowcat Ridge will be open all week long until 10 p.m. (11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). The attractions at Santa's Christmas Lane will run through Dec. 24. Snowcat will reduce its schedule to Friday through Sunday after Jan. 7, 2024.
