Ultra Music Festival is set to return to downtown Miami next year.
The Miami City Commission voted 3-2 on Thursday for the three-day festival to return to Bayfront Park on March 27-29, 2020.
Logistical issues during the 2019 festival at Virginia Key, which included a fire and thousands walking on the Rickenbacker Causeway, prompted Ultra organizers to look for other venues outside of the area. In May, Ultra organizers vowed to look for another city to host the festival.
Ultra has been held at:
- Miami Beach: 1999-2000
- Bayfront Park: 2001-2005
- Bicentennial Park: 2006-2011
- Bayfront Park: 2012-2018
- Virginia Key: 2019
- Bayfront Park: 2020*
Note: Asterisk* indicates the 2020 festival is scheduled.
