TAMPA, Fla. — R&B singer Chris Brown is coming back to Tampa, and he might be hoping for a less eventful visit this time.

Brown has a concert scheduled for Aug. 31 at Amalie Arena. Tickets go on sale Friday.

The singer has a history of being involved in violent incidents, including allegedly punching a photographer at a Tampa nightclub in April 2017. The photographer told police he was hired to take photos of an event at Aja Channelside, and Brown hit him in the mouth.

A warrant was issued for Brown, and he was arrested July 5, 2018, in West Palm Beach after a concert. He pleaded not guilty.

Brown recently was a no-show for a May 28 hearing in Paris with a woman who filed a rape complaint against him. He denies the charges.

Brown's history of violence includes a guilty plea to felony assault for beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and a 2016 arrest on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
