Ok, let’s be honest. Five-year-olds probably aren’t his biggest fan base, but that didn’t stop Jon Bon Jovi from checking in on some Florida kindergarteners.
On Monday, the rock star virtually stepped into Mr. Bonick’s Marsh Pointe Elementary School class. The school is in Palm Beach County, but it’s been closed for weeks because of the coronavirus pandemic. Just like classes all over the country, the kids are now learning online.
But this class was quite a bit different.
Bon Jovi broke out his acoustic guitar and sang a few impromptu songs based off some tunes the kids had put together. The students had all been told to write down their feelings about life in quarantine.
“Because if you get to put your feelings down on paper sometimes they’ll turn into songs, sometimes they’ll turn into stories and you never know where it might lead you,” Bon Jovi said, according to USA Today.
The newspaper reports the rocker worked some of the words into his new crowd-sourced song, “Do What You Can.”
“His songs have a don’t quit theme and that’s what I teach my students,” Mr. Bonick told NJ.com.
And, for some reason, there were a lot of parents in class too.
