ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Studios will incorporate the use of American Sign Language for the first time ever in a haunted house during Halloween Horror Nights.
The theme park will have an attraction based on the movies "A Quiet Place" and "A Quiet Place Part II," which are about a family trying to survive a post-apocalyptic world with a sightless creature that preys on anything that makes the slightest noise. The immersive experience will have sign language "to capture the authenticity of the films."
Park visitors will be able to relive the tension that is seen in the films, where the snarls of the creatures will follow them throughout the haunted house. Some of the scenes that will be recreated are the first movie's farmhouse, which the family uses as shelter, and the root cellar where Evelyn Abbott escapes to give birth while the creature creeps in closer to their house.
The 2018 movie stars actor John Krasinski, who also directed it, and Golden Globe-winning actress Emily Blunt. The two play Lee and Evelyn Abbott who are caring for and trying to protect their children from the monster. The second movie came out in 2021 and was also directed by Krasinski. The first movie scored 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and the second scored 91%.
It will open on Aug. 30 and tickets are available to purchase on their website.
