Explore the Hillsborough River on a 'water bike'

Much like a traditional bicycle, the rider pedals the water bike to propel it forward and uses handlebars to steer.

TAMPA, Fla. — There's a seat, pedals, handlebars and two ... pontoons?

It's called a water bike, and it's a great way to explore the Hillsborough River.

Much like a traditional bicycle, the rider pedals the bike to propel it forward and uses handlebars to steer.

"I would even say they’re easier than riding a bike," said Jason Olewinski, the owner of Tampa Bay Water Bike Company.

Located at the Tampa Convention Center, Olewinski says his company gives riders the perfect starting spot for a day on the river. "We have a mix of wildlife and the urban area."

A one-hour rental is $30 for adults, and $25 for kids under 15.

Two hours is $45 for adults, and $40 for kids under 15.
