Here's all the fun Tampa Bay has to offer this Labor Day weekend

Enjoy food and performances at the Gulfport Gecko Fest or start the spooky season a little early at the opening night of Scream-A-Geddon 2024.

TAMPA, Fla. — The Labor Day weekend festivities are in full swing, and the Tampa Bay area has plenty of fun to offer! 

Whether that means starting off the spooky season a little early, discovering local music or even attending community festival — the possibilities are endless. We encourage you to have a good time and stay hydrated during your adventures.

24th Annual Gulfport Gecko Fest

  • What: It's one of the largest and most anticipated festivals in the Tampa Bay area, honoring the Gulfport waterfront village’s unofficial mascot and favorite reptile, the Gecko! The festival features live music, over 200 art, craft and food vendors, children’s activities, street performers and costumed characters. There will also be a costume contest, a parade, a fire and acrobatics show and the famous street dance round out.

Scream-A-Geddon

  • What: This is perfect for anyone that's eager to get into the Halloween spirit and spooky season a little early this year. Starting this Labor Day weekend, the Scream-A-Geddon Horror Park will feature six terrifying haunted attractions and a Monster Midway where customers can enjoy games, food, drinks, monsters and scares.
  • When: Opening night is at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. A full schedule of the park's hours can be found here.

Suncoast Labor Day Kid's Extravaganza

  • What: The event will feature a fun day of kids' activities and events, including bounce houses, obstacle courses, water slides, food trucks, pony rides, a petting zoo, a live DJ, face painting and more. There will also be sponsored giveaways from local businesses including the Buccaneers Street Team and Busch Gardens.
  • When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1

Kölsch Day

  • What: It's a kick off to Oktoberfest with $5 Copperpoint Honey Kölsch beers. You can also test your strength in Steinholding competitions throughout the day, and keep the party going with German music played by a live DJ.
  • When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1

Scary Neighbor Festival

  • What: This single-day music festival in Ybor City will showcase diverse local talent and live performances.
  • When: Doors open at 11 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 31

Tampa Beat Weekend

  • What: This event will feature a lineup of hip-hop and indie rap artists and creatives from the Tampa Bay area. 
  • When: 7 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31

Hyde Park Village Fresh Market

  • What: It's a monthly farmers market featuring over 80 local vendors including produce, handcrafted goods, plants and more. While you shop and stroll, you can enjoy live music by Gasparilla Music in Village Circle.
  • When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday Sept. 1
