What to do in Tampa Bay for Easter weekend

TAMPA, Fla. — It’s time to hop into this year’s Easter weekend, after experiencing all this month’s offerings.

This weekend presents a diverse lineup of great events to enjoy with family and friends, whether on wheels at United Skates of America in Tampa or on the sands at Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival.

Tampa Bay AirFest at MacDill 

What: This year’s event will grant Tampa Bay families access to everything MacDill Air Force Base has to offer. This will be the last opportunity to experience the base’s air power before a 3-year hiatus, so you might not want to miss it.

When: 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday

Easter Fun at The Florida Aquarium

What: Why not be on the search for pastel-colored easter eggs while your aquatic friends zoom through the water? The fan-favorite Easter Bunny will also attend at select times for some pics and flicks with the family.

When: 

  • 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday
  • 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival

What: If Michelangelo was alive this century, he just might be flattered to see the showcase of sculptures made from the sands of Clearwater Beach.

When: March 29 – April 14

  • 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays
  • 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays

St. Pete Pier Spring Festival 

What: It’s a spring extravaganza featuring entertainment, activities and games for the whole family.

When: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt are sold out.

Easter Family Skate

 What: This Easter event puts the “bounce” in “roll bounce” at its family-friendly Easter skate party.

When: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday
