ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The St. Petersburg CareFest has officially returned for another year. The annual event is perfect for anyone who is hoping to give back to the community this Fall.

It runs now through Oct. 31. The CareFest Day of Community Service — a full day of volunteering and donation initiatives — will be on Sept. 28.

"CareFest embodies the spirit of St. Petersburg by bringing together neighbors to support one another and enhance our community. Each year, volunteers complete more than 400 projects in the Tampa Bay area — a testament to the dedication and generosity of our residents," Housing and Neighborhood Services Administrator Amy Foster said in a statement.

Community members can volunteer and take part in all sorts of projects, including home repairs, yard work, neighborhood and park cleanups, donation drives, storm drain marking projects, shoreline plantings and homeless services.

Last year, St. Petersburg residents were able to complete 13 donation drives, 33 private property projects and 25 neighborhood improvement projects.
