PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — The Walt Disney Company continues to make its mark in the Sunshine State by introducing a new Disney Cruise Line ship.
On Tuesday morning, the company's new Disney Treasure ship docked in Port Canaveral for the first time.
Disney Treasure features themes of adventure, immersing guests in stories involving Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and for the first time on a Disney Cruise Line, Disney Park adventures.
The cruise ship includes a real-life Santa Cecilia, a theatrical dining experience themed to the Pixar movie "Coco." There will also be a sweet shop inspired by "Zootopia" and a Broadway-style production called "Disney The Tale of Moana."
Guests can also enjoy themed cocktails at venues inspired by the iconic Disney Parks attractions, the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise and the 1954 film "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."
To celebrate the new cruise line, Disney is introducing "Treasure Tomorrow," a new initiative that expands the company's commitment to "creating lasting, positive impacts in the port communities we call home across Florida and throughout the Caribbean."
Disney is also teaming up with the Brevard School Foundation to sponsor career exploration programs, in hopes of inspiring students to learn about different careers.
Disney Treasure is making its first voyage on Dec. 21, with a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise followed by a first-ever season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.
The new ship also sailed to New York City on Nov. 10 for a special christening celebration.
