ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Hello, Tampa Bay! I'm so excited to be back in the Sunshine State. I'm an award-winning reporter from Tallahassee and a proud FAMU Rattler.

I attended Florida A&M University and graduated in the top 10% of my school with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism.

I started my career in Columbus, Georgia, as a reporter. I covered a wide range of stories from military affairs at Fort Benning to deadly tornadoes in Alabama. I also helped our sister station in Panama City, Florida, after Hurricane Michael.

I spent two years in Georgia before I decided to leave the Peach State and move to the Sooner State. I was a reporter at KWTV in Oklahoma City for three years. During that time, I spent a lot of time traveling all across the state covering tornadoes, snow and hailstorms.

I also covered major events like the centennial of the Tulsa Race Massacre, the tragic shooting at a Tulsa hospital and a city’s push to remove several officials heard having a secret meeting about lynching Black people and killing journalists from office.

While at KWTV, I fell in love with long-form storytelling. I worked with the special projects team telling stories centered around culture and diversity. Those are the stories I really enjoy! I even traveled to Canada to learn more about an all-Black town founded by Oklahomans.

A few organizations I'm proud to be part of National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society.

I can't wait to hear from you! I'd love to learn more about what issues you're passionate about or any interesting things going on here in the Tampa Bay area.
