Allison Kropff was born and raised near Buffalo, New York. She stayed close to home and went to St. Bonaventure University.
Her career began at WOAY in Beckley, West Virginia. She then spent some time at WHCP in Charleston, West Virginia. After that, she kept moving south to Knoxville, Tennessee where she spent six years anchoring and reporting at WVLT.
