$42K to streak at the Super Bowl? That's how much one Florida man says he spent on his ticket

The man said he paid more than $42,000 for his ticket and knew he would be arrested.

LAS VEGAS — A Florida man arrested after briefly making it onto the field at Allegiant Stadium during Super Bowl LVIII is sharing his tale about how he did it and why.

The man, identified as Alex Gonzalez, describes himself as a day trader who lives in the Miami area. According to him, he planned to make a prop bet that someone would streak across the field and that it would be him. In an interview with TMZ, he said he was at a UFC event the night before the Super Bowl and told people, including allegedly Dr. Phil and the Nelk Boys, that he would be on the field and people should bet on it.

However, when he reportedly went to place his own bet, the listing wasn't there. Still, he said he was too committed to back out now.

Gonzalez released a 12-minute YouTube video on Tuesday titled "How I Streaked The Super Bowl in 2024," giving a before and after look at his feat. In the video, Gonzalez and his friends reportedly scope out Allegiant Stadium the day before the game before heading back to their hotel rooms.

In the video, Gonzalez says he bought a single ticket for the big game for more than $42,000.

"Dude, all this to go to jail," Gonzalez quickly says to the camera before buying the tickets for himself and his friends.

"We are legends," Gonzalez continues after buying the tickets.

The video also shows Gonzalez and his friends going to a Dick's Sporting Goods to buy cleats to better run on the field during their stunt.

Once at the game, Gonzalez reportedly waited until the 3rd quarter before taking to the field. It didn't take long for him to be apprehended by security and escorted off the field. According to People, the game was barely delayed. CBS announcers also briefly mentioned the stunt as it was happening before resuming calling the game.

The video ends with Gonzalez appearing to leave jail the following morning.

"Was it worth it?" the man behind the camera asks.

"We're about to find out," Gonzalez replied.

This isn't the first time a streaker has tried to take the field during the Super Bowl. Right here in Tampa, during Super Bowl LV, a streaker ran onto Raymond James Stadium in a neon pink one-piece swimsuit or leotard while Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs.

While unconfirmed, it appears both streaking events may be connected. In the 2021 incident, one newspaper pointed out that the words "Vitaly Uncensored" were written on the streaker's outfit. That website is run by infamous YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who is known for his stunts and pranks at big sporting events.

Close to five minutes into Gonzalez's video, Vitaly visits the hotel room and speaks with Gonzalez. It appears to be a friendly exchange and they know each other.
