TAMPA, Fla. — Troopers are searching for a driver accused of killing an elderly man during a hit-and-run Saturday evening in Tampa.
At 6:38 p.m., an 86-year-old man was reportedly walking his bike across U.S. 41 near Honeycrisp Court when he was hit by a southbound SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
After the collision, investigators say the SUV drove away without stopping to offer any help or assistance.
The 86-year-old died from the injuries he received, troopers say.
Anyone with information regarding the deadly hit-and-run is asked to call FHP at *347 or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
