TAMPA, Fla. — A car fire on Interstate 4 was slowing traffic for commuters Monday evening in Tampa.
Tampa Fire Rescue said just after 5:15 p.m. that the car caught fire on I-4 westbound at the Interstate 275 junction.
Westbound lanes of I-4 were temporarily closed but have since reopened. However, there was still heavy congestion in the area for several hours.
Photos from the scene show a black sedan completely engulfed in flames as black smoke billows into the air.
It's not clear how the fire started or if anyone was hurt.
