PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Rays start their season with a spring training game Friday afternoon against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Tickets starting at $9 are still available. The first 1,000 fans will receive a DJ Kitty Mascot Head.

The game is not airing on television. Fans can listen to the game on the Rays’ team website.

Austin Pruitt will start for the Rays on Friday. Other pitchers who could see action against Philadelphia include Hunter Wood, Andrew Kittredge, Casey Sadler, Andrew Moore, Luis Santos, Colin Poche, Oliver Drake and Ryan Merritt.

The Phillies are scheduled to start 25-year-old left-hander Cole Irvin, who finished with a 2.57 ERA in Triple-A in 2018.

Major League Baseball is introducing a 20-second pitch clock during spring training games this season. The league still hasn't decided if it will implement the pitch clock for regular season games.

First pitch between the Rays and Phillies is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET Friday at Charlotte Sports Park.
