A 6-year-old called St. Petersburg police after she and her 2-year-old sibling were stuck in a car when their caregiver passed out, police said.
According to an affidavit, about 7:41 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call from a child who said she and another child were stuck in a car in their driveway.
When police arrived, they found Laura Colleen McMurdock, 40, passed out in the driver seat. They said she had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, slurred speech, a blank expression, bloodshot and watery eyes and was unsteady on her feet.
She was charged with child neglect and DUI.
