Sarasota police say they are on the scene of a drowning near the 10th Street boat ramp.
A man appeared to be in their 40s has died and there is no danger to the public, police said.
Paramedics believe the body was in the water for an hour to 90 minutes.
Residents are asked to avoid the area.
