A private plane crashed early Monday morning at the Plant City Airport.
The aircraft was trying to take off just before 1 a.m. when it hit the perimeter fence on the west side of the airport near Turkey Creek Road, according to law enforcement. The airplane came to a stop in a field west of the road.
Only a pilot and one passenger were aboard. They suffered only minor injuries and both refused medical treatment.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
