TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — The body of a missing 71-year-old fisherman was found Saturday afternoon near Treasure Island, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
John Kotulick was reported missing by his wife Saturday morning after he didn't return from a fishing trip Friday evening.
The department said officers found his truck at the Jungle Prada launch. That's when the police department's marine unit, the Coast Guard and the Pinellas County Sheriff's helicopter searched the water.
Kotulick's kayak was found near a waterfront home on Treasure Island. His body was later found at 2 p.m. in the water near Treasure Island, police said.
The cause of death has not been determined, however, police believe there was no foul play.
