MARION CO., Fla.— An off-duty nurse and a K-9 deputy saved a man’s life in Marion County this week.

A 42-year-old man had a medical emergency in his vehicle Tuesday evening in Ocala.

Luckily, bystanders, including off-duty nurse, Amy Somwaru, saw what was happening and rushed to help. As Somwaru was doing CPR, Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Alan Lee was driving past and jumped out to assist until more first responders showed up.

The man made a full recovery and was discharged from the hospital Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.
