TERRA CEIA, Fla. -- A man's body was found in the mangroves near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
A fisherman came across the body around 1 p.m. Saturday near Joe's Island, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office news release. The island is located just north of the northbound toll booth within the Terra Ceia Preserve State Park.
The body is identified as a white male, but other details -- including age and the person's name -- are not yet known, officials say.
An autopsy is planned to determine a cause of death.
