CLEARWATER, Fla. — Coast Guard crews medevacked a man after he was having chest pains on a fishing boat off the coast of Anna Maria Island.
A crew from Clearwater and St. Petersburg coordinated the medevac just after noon on Friday to rescue the 51-year-old crew member on the commercial fishing boat, according to a news release.
“The teamwork of the captain of the distressed vessel, along with our partners at Air Station Clearwater were paramount in ensuring the patient was able to access a higher level of care,” said crew member Nick Jennings.
The boat was about 45 miles west of the island and transported by the aircrew to Tampa General Hospital.
