TAMPA, Fla. — A fire at a car wash in South Tampa forced the closure of Manhattan Avenue at Gandy Boulevard.
Firefighters responded Tuesday morning to the location 4902 S. Manhattan Ave. Smoke was reportedly seen across the area before crews arrived.
The fire started in a nearby storage shed which went up to the eaves of the car wash, according to Tampa Fire Rescue. Crews worked to put out fire hot spots.
It's not yet known when the roadway will reopen.
