Exploding ammo proves dangerous for Hillsborough Co. firefighters

CARROLLWOOD, Fla. -- Firefighters working to put out a house fire also had to contend with exploding ammunition among the flames.

Crews responded Monday evening to the area of 16000 Norwood Drive, where they were met with flames coming through the home's roof.

In addition to fighting the fire and smoke, firefighters worked as ammo stored in the home exploded.

It took about an hour to bring the fire under control. It's not yet known how the fire started.

No one was hurt.
