2 dogs dead in Hillsborough County house fire

Authorities say 2 other dogs were rescued, as well as 2 adults.

DOVER, Fla. — Two dogs are dead after a house fire in Dover on Wednesday, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

The agency says it received multiple calls around 4:40 p.m. reporting fire and explosions coming from a home in the area of Sydney Dover Road and Walden Sheffield Road.

The first unit that arrived confirmed the house was "50% involved" in the flames, along with a nearby shed.

Crews say they used hose lines to take out the fire and were able to get it under control within 15 minutes.

Two adults were reportedly rescued and transported to a nearby trauma center. They are said to be in stable condition.

Two dogs were rescued as well, however two others died due to the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
