Police: Man dead after hit-and-run crash in Tampa, driver on the run

TAMPA, Fla. - A man died in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning as the Tampa Police Department tries to find the driver.

A rented Jeep Cherokee sped through a stop sign and collided with a car around 2:10 a.m. Saturday on North 26th Street and East Columbus Drive, according to Tampa police.

Artemus Leon Holley, 52, died in the crash. He was the only person in his car.

The driver and passenger of the Cherokee ran after the crash. Police officers arrested the passenger, who has not cooperated with police.

Tampa police are still trying to find the Cherokee's driver. Police did not reveal the make or model of the car Holley drove.

The investigation is ongoing.
