Man who escaped arrest caught 2 days later by Pinellas County deputies

While being placed under arrest on Monday, deputies say the man escaped and ran away from them.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A 40-year-old man who was on the run after escaping from Pinellas County deputies during an arrest Monday morning was taken into custody.

In an update Wednesday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Kenneth Emery was found and arrested.

At around 9:20 a.m. on Monday, deputies came across Emery in the area of Seminole Boulevard and Ulmerton Road and arrested him after learning that he had a warrant for petit theft, the sheriff's office explained in a previous news release.

While being placed under arrest, deputies say Emery escaped and ran away from them. He was last seen heading northbound on Seminole Boulevard.

The 40-year-old reportedly still had a handcuff attached to his left wrist the last time he was seen.

He's now in custody.
